An old love….

Most of you who follow my blog and my patterns know that i really like to work in SCHEEPJES Cahlista. It is, as most of you also know a 100% natural cotton yarn in Aran weight (50grams/85meters). Most of my blankets are done in Cahlista but recently I tried a few different yarns from the Scheepjes range like the River Washed or the Stone Washed and the Metropolis, which I really liked.

I saw a little motive on a ancient carpet when visiting our local museum JAMTLI (a fantastic place where history is shown in a very playful and child-friendly way) and I thought I want to try to adapt this to a modern crochet piece.

I want to do a little, fast blanket besides all the “Connected” madness which is still going on. So I went back to my old love, modern classic Cahlista.

The colours i chose this time are MERCURY 074 and ULTRAMARINE 124 and I think they really make a match.

I am going to use the one-row-mosaic technique again. And it will be interesting to see if this method works as good as the two-row technique which I have used a lot when working with Cahlista.

I always feel a little like an old surgeon with my tool case of Mikawa Momen by COHANA  I use it for my hooks and for my short knitting needles and in my opinion it is the best way to keep your stuff together.

Just in case you do not know where you can buy or order your yarn, you will find all Scheepjes retailers HERE.

So my little crochet basket is loaded and ready for the next adventure. Grab your 5.00 mm hook and chain 118 or any multiple of 28 plus 5 plus 1 in the starting chain.

If you use my patterns and post pictures in social medias it would be nice to link or refer to my blog and use #martinupnorth. Feedback is more than welcome!

More to come very soon from up north…
