So its on… The SCHEEPJES Dawn Chorus Pick & Mix CKAL Experience starts today.
First of all I want to thank each and everyone who was part of making this happen from the heart. The wonderful people of Scheepjes, testers, helping hands, mental support, technical specialists, media people and so on and so on… the Goldcrest pattern would never have seen the light without the massive support and help of you. We are doing this together!
As said before the Goldcrest pattern is actually two patterns. A crochet pattern and a knitting pattern. The pattern is now available for free in English (UK and US terms in crochet) and Dutch for free here:
Both patterns are using the moss stitch and an integrated mosaic part (of course one in knitting and one in crochet). The crochet scarf is slightly wider and a little longer(26 x180cm) than the knitted version (25 x 170cm) but both scarfs are just fine to wear for adults and kids depending on how you bind it. The crochet pattern is not only inspired by the Goldcrest but even by the “French Braid” pattern by Cypress Textiles which I highly recommend if you want to dive deeper into the technique of moss stitch crochet.
There are yarn kits available which come in a very nice box that include:

I also decided to make some short videos for the parts that might be a challenge so that those of us who are visual learners have the best chances to succeed with this pattern. Those videos are not high class and made on my kitchen table and not in a professional studio. They should show you technical things and I hope they help you on your way.
