The “One Way or Another” Tunisian crochet pattern

The goal with this pattern was to create more than the usual, classical “follow step by step” pattern. The 8 different figures can be combined in one way or another so that each and everyone can create their own pattern. I hope I managed to give you all the tools so that you are able to combine and adapt as you want.

This is my way to try to motivate you to design your very own pattern, find new ways and experiment how the use of two or more colors and the direction changes, can create a complete different look of the pattern.

Cushion #1

The pattern is crocheted in Tunisian, Entrelac crochet from corner to corner. It can be crocheted with a normal crochet hook.

You will find the pattern here on Ravelry in English, Dutch and Spanish. More languages will be added later. I like to call this pattern a “4 in 1 plus endless options” pattern.

The regular price for the pattern is 8€.

Most important. There are no loose ends to weave in and no parts to join once the pattern is finished!

A big big thank you to all the testers, translators , mental support and all the caring, helping hands that have been involved in the process and to the forever supportive crochet community!

Cushion #1

The pattern includes:

  • Written instructions
  • Youtube videos
  • Picture tutorials
  • Charts
  • 4 different ready to go patterns
  • handy pattern cards for more experienced crafters

For those of us who still want to follow written instructions from the first stitch to the last, I included 4 ready to go patterns. You will be ready to go from the very start to the end. Those patterns are examples of how I did use the 8 different figures that are included in the pattern.

Cushion #1

The pattern includes 2 cushion patterns (50cm x 50cm squares), a baby blanket and a big blanket… and, as I said, endless possibilities to combine the figures as you wish.

I also added Youtube videos and pictures explaining the Tunisian crochet technique and especially the way we increase and decrease this time.

Cushion #2

It took me a while to find the smoothest way to join the corner to corner rows combined with the increases and decreases. Quite a lot trial and error but in the end it tuned out very neat.

All makings are crocheted in SCHEEPJES Stone Washed and SCHEEPJES River Washed. I also crated one cushion in Scheepjes Merino Soft which worked really good too.

Cushion #1 in Scheepjes Merino Soft

If you decide to buy new yarn, Scheepjes Yarn can be bought at your local yarn shop: Scheepjes Dealers . If you do not have the possibility to buy local, you can order your Scheepjes yarn at Wool Warehouse or Jimmy Beans Wool

I really hope you dare to combine the given figures as you wish and create your very own magic.

  4. I did not receive any photo tutorial or YouTube tutorials, only very unclear written instructions. How do you increase at the end of the pass? I’m disappointed that this was all I received. You shouldn’t say one thing and not provide it.
