WIP / Oh it is going to be a new hat… oh and it is going to be knitted…

So this is going to be my first knitting project. It is going to be my very own „this year’s“ hat and right now everything is still in progress. I am testing a few different yarns and different needle sizes just to get the perfect look and fit. It is going to be a two color hat and it is going to have a big, cosy, one color cuff.

As a not so experienced knitter this takes a lot of time, much more then I actually thought. But I really want this to be good and I know that the invested time will pay off in the end.

So far I have tested the SCHEEPJES Merino Soft and the SCHEEPJES Metropolis in a few different color combinations. The rich color range of these yarns (Metropolis 80 colors and Merino Soft 56 colors) gives you many possibilities to mix different colors. The Metropolis is going to be knitted double stranded to make this hat really warm and cosy. It is worked bottom-up so that you can adjust the cuff after your individual wants and needs.

My main tester @sunshineyalex is also working on a version in SCHEEPJES Spirit. It is also worked double stranded.

I think I also found a good way to decrease stitches so that the hat has a good and stylish shape.

We are working kind of hard right now to release this pattern as soon as possible so that your loved ones do get a few warm, wooly Christmas presents…

And if you are not into knitting… the crocheted „Common People” hat is still going strong and looking good this year! Or what?
