Geometry & Texture MAL: My third pattern: The “Twist and Shout” Square and bonus Cowl

So it is my privilege to release the last pattern of the Geometry and Texture MAL. Lilla Björn Crochet and myself have now released 6 patterns in 6 weeks and I feel a little relieved and a little sad that this MAL is over now. But above all I feel very happy and honored that I was invited to take part of this and I can say that I really learned a lot. I am very thankful for this experience and I really want to thank all of you you participated and made it an unique experiense.

The listings of the MAL are still running on RAVELRY for reduced pricing until 31/12/2022.

Every listing will include three patterns at the end of the MAL.

Official support for this MAL will be offered in Tatsiana’s Facebook group HERE where we will be happy to see all your pictures! Join now our friendly community with 33K+ members. Please, be aware that you will have to answer a simple question upon a sing up. Without answering, your request will not be approved.

The last pattern is called “Twist and Shout” and when you take a look at it you will surely understand why it has got this name. It is a twisted celtic knot and it is not the kind of pattern you can memorize. The pattern needs your attention and you probably need to sit in front of the chart to not make any mistakes that will lead you to shouting out loudly one or another swear word 🙂

The pattern is written as a square/coaster or pot holder. But it is highly adaptable. To show you how easy it is to adapt to your very own wants and needs, I added a cowl chart which is basically the same pattern but mirrored and twisted, and it uses an adaption of the mosaic pattern of the “See me in a Crown” hat too. I thought that this is a good round up for the MAL. You can of course also use this pattern as the base for a blanket. 😉

The square is crocheted in the classic crochet yarn SCHEEPJES Catona. The cowl is worked in the modern favorite SCHEEPJES Scrumptious. You can easily use yarn from your stash for this projects or buy your yarn at your local Scheepjes Dealers or order your Scheepjes yarn at Wool Warehouse or Jimmy Beans Wool if you do not have a yarn store near by.

If you use my patterns and post pictures on social media, it would be nice to link or refer to my blog www.martinupnorth.com and use #martinupnorth . Feedback is more than welcome!

I hope you enjoy the new pattern, put on your favourite Beatles song and start your very own version of the “Twist and Shout” pattern. I am looking forward to see your very own color choice and adaption. Be creative! Have Fun!

More to come soon from Up North…

  1. Two of my favorite designers in this MAL, so of course I purchased the patterns from both of you as soon as I saw the email regarding the MAL. Since I was working on Christmas gifts when this MAL came out, I am devoting January to me–also my birthday month! LOL
